The Battle for Maugthrond Pass, the armies...Part 4

In the lead up for the game, we decided to use the classic lists below, plus another 1000 points from the 5th Edition Army Books. We also decided to use 5th Edition Magic, though the core rules were still 8th.

This battle all centres around the elf town.


I had the core forces plus extra. If I don't light the signal fire in the 1st turn, everything activates and comes on a turn later, so it is a rather crucial roll. Eltharion himself doesn't come till Turn 5! So my meager forces will have to make do till he arrives.

The main victory points are for killing the main characters, with a little given for the units themselves. It is very clear, that as soon as the shaman steals the power from the waystone, that is 10 victory points right there. Since he is also on a flying monster, it does make it difficult to counter that.
But we shall see.

The next post will be the battle itself, which took place last night. I have over 70 photos to get through so it may take a little while.
