Some Eldar from the Webway

Finished a few new units for the Eldar.

The new Warpspider Phoenix Lord. Amazing model and pose, but was a nightmare to assemble. She sits on the smallest of rocks in the middle of that web. Had a few games with her, she is very good.
Some very old Fire Dragons.
In hindsight, put an old banner on the leader.

Thanks for looking.

From the webway...Eldar update

I have only painted a few units this year for my Eldar and only one game. I have mainly been playing and painting my Black Templar's, which will be in the next update.

That said, I added a much needed wraith unit and a spirit seer.

I am starting to run out of those bases, but this was nice and easy to paint from memory.

I didn't go crazy with the gems this time. Still, they look very cool.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers!

Eldar update

I find it very weird that I only have a couple of posts about my eldar, but they are by far the most played army I have and I have painted a lot of it.

A month or so ago, I managed to finally finish two pieces for my eldar, the new Avatar of Khaine and some rangers. Since the new 9th edition book dropped for eldar, all my troops choices I had painted up, are now elite. So I needed to paint some to field a fully painted force again, and I just so happen to have a pile of metal rangers.

First up though, the avatar. Loved this model, and of course for nostalgia reasons, had to go with the classic look. I remember playing against this model tons of times in 2nd edition and it was always so hard to kill. To celebrate the finished model, I actually played a game with it recently against a friends Space Wolves, and this thing annihilated agressors, Bjorn, a redemptor deadnought and most of a Blood Claws pack just on its own before it died. An absolute beast.

The rangers I wanted to try sponging on camo for once. Kind of happy with how it turned out. Notice I have the crouching observing ranger which got released ages ago. They also did well in the game against the Space Wolves, sniping Ragnar before he got into combat.

So there we have it, a bit more complete for my eldar.

Lately (in the last week or so), I have been getting excited for 2nd Edition 40k. A friend has asked to play it so I have been updating and fixing my old Space Wolves. I will endeavour to post the updates here when I can.

Thanks for looking!

From the Webway...

As is customary for me now, it has been an age since I have posted anything here. Not to say I have not been busy. Since the new edition of 40k, I have enjoyed many a game with my friends and have mainly been focused on my Sisters and Eldar.

So I thought I would post an update for my Eldar, having finished quite a few units for them.

The Autarch on skyrunner is made from several kits. The bike itself is from a new skyrunner and a vyper body with a brightlance as the under slung gun. The Autarch himself, is made from the new skyrunner legs, with the plastic autarch with wings, a couple of Drukari banners and an old High Elf Silver Helm lance.

He also had a great first game, where he killed a few Chaos Raptors, supported Warwalkers with their shooting, saved the Farseer from a Hellbrute and finished off a squad of cultists. Not bad.

I also ungraded all my other characters to be on skyrunners. The extra movement, toughness and wounds is very welcome.
I also completed this Wave Serpent to transport my Wraithblades. Unfortunately I haven't got a photo of the Wraithblades handy, so will have to do that next time.

Finally, I just finished these Warwalkers. I cannot stress enough how amazing these guys are in games. The invulnerable save is very handy indeed and they kick out a lot of firepower for a very affordable price. I do have another three to paint up as well.

I have a few other updates to catch up on and I hope to post a but more now.

Cheers.

From out of the webway...

Well it has been awhile, but i haven't been idle.

Over the Christmas holidays I managed to put a significant dent in my burgeoning Eldar (or Aeldari) force. All the bases are from Scribor, as they have been bases I have wanted to use for a force for ages.

Here is what I have painted since the last post.

This is the Autrach Bal-Sagoth, leader of my Swordwind. Most games he has acquitted himself well, though has yet to do something outstanding.

This is the Farseer of my forces. He was made from a conversion of Eldrad Ulthran. At this stage he has no name, as his main feat in games I have had so far has had him reliably fail to cast any powers consistently.

Another Farseer. Got this one already painted, just had to patch him up. Got him in an effort to try and actually be able to cast some powers.

Also got these Warlocks painted, and just touched them up. Again, got them in order to be able to actually cast powers.
Jain Zar. Awesome model, though has been at times lackluster in games. That said, sometimes she is a beast and does kill units, though she pretty much always dies.
The new banshees. Regrettably, there performance is much less than Jain Zar's performance. Still, great models.
Dark Reapers. Nuff said, very solid unit in every game. They are the unit my friend hates the most.
Some old Dire Avengers. Painted them with different crests so it is easy for me to know who belongs to which unit. The crests here are Where's Walley colours, as there was a special event at the local zoo that I took my boys to, where it was Where's Walley themed.
Painted these ones in Christmas colours, as I finished them on Christmas Day. Sword was painted rainbow colours, as that was what was requested by my boys.
Lastly, these ones were just painted with a more traditional crest.

I also have two Fire Prisms, a Falcon and a Viper left to paint, but all the infantry are done.

I have played many a game with them since then, which has been good.

I have also been working on some terrain and a narrative campaign for my friends to play in, revolving around a Rogue Trader and the secrets he has uncovered. Hopefully it won't be as long till my next post, but no promises.

Thanks for looking, cheers!

Starting a new force....Eldar

With a friend of mine getting into 40k, and me quite disliking the idea of Space Marine vs Space Marine, I decided this was a prefect opportunity to get a new project going.

I've like Eldar for a long time. They have great models and a very cool background. Plu sit was a good excuse to do a lot of OSL lighting! Out of all the Craftworld's, the Biel Tan would be hands down the best in my opinion in terms of background. Vengeful and attacking all who threaten the emerging Eldar Empire, they utilize lots of Aspects and have a cool scheme that uses some freehand.

So I got round to collecting some models so we could have some games. I'm pleased to say that already we have had quite  a few with our relevant forces though sadly I have no photo's of them. I have however finished my first Eldar model, my Farseer Auric Stormseer. This is a name I have borrowed from the old Black Library book, Farseer, which is a very good read, if a little old.

So here is my first model. Hope you like!

My current Eldar force comprises of:
Farseer
10 Dire Avengers (So good)
10 Defender Guardians
2 Wave Serpents (Insanely good)
Wind rider squad (6 of them, these guiys are also really good, and they have a couple of shuriken cannons)

Considering how well my Dire Avengers do, I think they will be my next unit to work on.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!
